Ferdinand's in Wheaton, MD. Greek salad bar; great chicken, prime rib and seafood. Pur-r-r-fect for locarbing. How about a restaurant group gathering there sometime?

We have a DC-MD group that posts on the "Low Carb Gatherings" thread at atkinsfriends.com -- someone in our group mentioned this restaurant, but we haven't gotten to it yet. Tried Outback in Bethesda, Greenfield in Rockville (all the meat you can eat), Bugaboo Creek in Gaithersburg. All Atkins-friendly.

Recommended! Piccadilly Cafeteria in Athens, Ga. has a fresh fruit medley which consists of a variety of in season fruit. I asked for the strawberries only and they immediately presented me with a dish of strawberries halves! Delicious!

Wendys Fast Food Restaurant will substitute a side salad for fries with any of their combo meals. I thought that it was a coincidence, but I checked with corporate offices and they said that it was a policy. I get the fried chicken combo with side salad or caesar salad when I'm in a rush and did not pack my lunch.

My husband and I enjoy a restaurant in the Timonium, Maryland area called the Steak and Ale. They are very good about substituting the broccoli and cauliflower medley for the baked potato. We're always on the lookout for Atkins-friendly restaurants. The Old Country Buffet in Parkville, Maryland is also good - nice salad bar and low-carb veggies.
