I just recently discovered the le Carb frozen desert by Goldenbrook, It is sweetened with Splenda and if I didn't know what I was eating, I would think it was delicious ice cream. 6 carbs per 1/2 cup. It certainly takes care of that sweet tooth.

Nathan, you are an idiot. I have Diabetes and high carbs is not what I need. Besides do your research, processed sugars is what most of the low carb diets are. As long as I eat GOOD, REAL food and not processed sugars, I can lose weight and feel good about myself.

Who wants to bet Nathan is a kid out looking for attention :D

Nathan should be careful what he says. It seems strange to me that my doctor would recommend the Atkins diet to me to take my blood sugar down and lose weight. Where did he obtain his medical degree?

Makes me sad to see that some people, like Nathan, who is obviously misinformed can only resort to name calling.

Those of us who have read all the data are very well informed as to the hows and whys of the low carb lifestyle. We know what that lifestyle has done for us healthwise.

Whenever someone resorts to these types of tactics it is usually out of fear of the unknown or out of malicious intent.

Unfortunately there is a group of people out there whose mission is to get people to stop dieting and to embrace the idea that being fat is the way you were meant to be. They post on groups like this in order to disrupt the group and have them become divisive. I personally can't go along with the idea that being fat is OK when at higher weights I was very ill with diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, etc. Now that I lost some weight the diseases are gone.

So at some level I'm angry with Nathan's post. At another level it just makes me very sad.

Hi Marie,

Try Real Whipping Cream. Make it yourself with a little Splenda, that's what I do.

I won't say how much I have to lose, it's more than 100lbs though. Atkins is the best thing I have ever done!

Good luck to you!

As a side note, it's nice to have a site like this where you can feel supported by others. Also, I'm with JoAnne, Nathan is probably just a kid out there trying to get a rise out of us and looking for attention. I would bet money on it!
